Occasionally, what appears to be an easy diagnosis is not the case. Sometimes you need to look outside the box for the correct solution. For example: You have noticed that there’s water in the oil. The easy and quick response is simply to assume the head is cracked or the gasket has blown! But what if we said, “no it’s not cracked.” That would surprise you wouldn’t it?
Well it’s true – there are some vehicles that are prone to developing corrosion holes in the timing cover which lets coolant pass into the sump. The most common offenders are Toyota Hiace – 2RZ; Holden – 5ltr V8 & 4.2ltr V8; Nissan Patrol and Maverick TB42.
When you call for a replacement head we’ll be able to help you diagnose the correct solution for your situation. But in the mean time make sure you use genuine coolant with these engines.
